St. Simons 2010

At the end of June we packed up the car and headed to St. Simons for the week. It was our first family vacation with just the three of us and we had a blast. Garner loved the pool and would have spent all day there. Anytime we asked if he wanted to go to the pool he would run around the run and scream "Wa Wa" to the top of his lungs. He spent the whole time jumping off the edge and dunking his head under the water. I guess we need to get him in some swim lessons. He wasn't crazy about the beach so as you can see from the pictures below he spent most of the his time on the beach sleeping.

Funny Faces

Garner has started making this face because it makes people laugh. It doesn't matter how many time he does it I still crack up laughing. We were lucky enough that some church friends caught it on camera at the pool Sunday.

First Haircut

After agonizing and debating for months we finally did it. We went and got Garner's long locks not so much cut but trimmed a little. It looks so cute and we are so happy with it. I'm waiting to see if people still think he is a girl.

18 month pictures

We went a couple of months ago and got Garners 18 month pictures. These were the first we had done since he's been walking. Quite a different experience. There was no such thing as sitting still and posing. He also had an ear infection and did not want to be there (that is why he is holding his choo choo in all the pictures). Despite that we still got some cute pics.

Fair Fun

This is a little late but we took Garner and his cousin Mack to the fair a while back. It was so crazy for the boys to be old enough to ride some of the rides there. Some they could even ride alone! Their favorite was this boat ride that went around and around. They rode it 5 or 6 times and just laughed and squealed the whole time. Thanks Gigi and Papa for treating us all to the fair! Oh and I'm showing you this last picture because of that huge stuffed dog I'm holding. Matthew won both the boys huge stuffed animals at the basketball toss. Yay daddy:) Even more impressive was it only took him a few tries. Garner sleeps with that dog every night now.

Bedtime Stories

Ok, so I normally don't try to get too sappy on my blog but I have to brag on my little man some. He is so sweet and God has blessed him with such a gentle spirit.

Last night I was laying down with him for bed time and he was almost asleep but he popped up to his knees and took his little hand and turned my face to his face. Then he brushed my hair out of my face and patted my cheek. He laid back down beside me and and rubbed my arm a few times before he fell asleep. It was so sweet. I think he is going to make a great big brother.

Our Favorite New Past Time

Well I haven't posted anything for a while. Our computer broke (and by that I mean I dropped our computer and broke it) but we finally have a new one so hopefully I won't have such a lag in posts.

Garner has discovered a new favorite toy - his shark sprinkler. He loves the water and wants to run through his sprinkler everyday. I suspect we will have a very high water bill this summer.

Garner is a raccoon.......

When it comes to food that is. He constantly scavenges for food in the pantry and the refrigerator like I never feed him. He loves to bring me whatever food is low enough to reach so he can try it. He likes marshmallows and he has recently discovered dill pickles. He goes to the fridge and points for one everyday.

Today I found him in the refrigerator with cold chicken casserole smeared all over his face and he had an open coke can turned up trying desperately to figure out how to drink out of it. I don't think he got any of it because most of it was spilled on the bottom shelf. We don't normally have coke cans in the house so this was also a learning experience for me. Nonetheless it was really funny.

Garner is up to a few new things. He has found his spot in the living room where he likes to sit and watch TV. He sits on the floor against couch with a pillow and watches his cartoons which right now are The Backyardigans and Curious George.
